The Eternal Question: Rent or Buy?
We recognize that buying a home in the Bay Area is an expensive and daunting proposition, especially when good school districts are desired. Real estate prices have always been linked to the reputation of its school districts. This is true not just in the Bay Area, but nationwide. Ultimately, you must decide what you are willing to give up in a home to live in a particular district.
What about renting a home in a top school district?
The plus side is it gives you and your family to chance to experience living in a particular community before expending large amounts of money to purchase a home there. When parents have committed themselves to private schools, this is a wonderful idea!
But for families who must relocate and decide to rent a home in a particular public school district, there are consequences to consider. It is true that anyone who legally resides in a particular school district may enroll their
children in school there. However, if you decide to move to another district, your children will not be able to continue to attend their existing school. When renting a home, parents should certainly be "heads-up" on school district policies with regards to inter-district transfers. HOME | Site Map | Our Clients | Why CROSSROADS? | FAQ | Contact Us
